CASA deposit drops for bigger pubic sector banks – The share of CASA deposits to total deposits of pubic sector banks contracted to 40.58% at the end of 31st Dec 2023 as compare to 42% in the year 31st Dec 2022. 6 out of 12 public sector banks are below the average of 40.58%.

Bank of Maharashtra (BOM) has the highest share of CASA ratio with 50.19% where as Canara Bank with lowest ratio of 31.65%. The lowest CASA is driven by the highest rate of interest offered on term deposits by the various banks.
